American Airlines Launches One-Way Travel Rewards Program

American Airlines, which invented the frequent flyer program nearly 30 years ago when it launched its AAdvantage program, has introduced a new frequent flyer feature allowing travelers to redeem frequent flyer miles for one-way travel at half the mileage requirement of round-trip travel.<br clear="none" /> <br clear="none" /> The new feature, called "One-Way Flex Awards," is the first of its kind among major U.S. domestic airlines.<br clear="none" /> <br clear="none" /> In addition to using miles for one-way travel, AAdvantage members now can also combine multiple award types&#x2014;AAnytime miles and MileSAAver miles, for instance, or economy class and first or business class awards&#x2014;on a single round-trip ticket in order to customize their award travel.<br clear="none" /> <br clear="none" /> For more information, or to view an online demo, visit <a href="http://www.aa.com/flexawards" target="_blank">www.aa.com/flexawards</a>.
