Spain, Thailand and China are the most in-demand event destinations for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) planners in 2019, with a lot of interest in Peru and European destinations, according to global destination and event management company Pacific World.
Pacific World identified the top destinations based on the number of requests it received and events booked for 2019 and beyond. Pacific World Global Marketing Manager Patricia Silvio says it’s no coincidence that the destinations that top the list all have strong convention bureaus and a clear destination development strategy, as well as modern infrastructures and convenient access. “We are also excited about some of the up-and-comers on the list — like Peru and Monaco — which have made major investments,” she says.
Pacific World states that emerging destinations satisfy the needs of the new generation of planners and attendees, and re-energize the interest of experienced travelers, all of whom are looking for new and whole experiences. “These planners, attendees and travelers are looking to fulfill their hunger for authenticity, one of this year’s major incentive trends.”
