PeopleCube, provider of intelligent workplace management technology, launched Resource Scheduler 9.1, a feature-rich resource scheduling solution that improves the ease and flexibility of scheduling for event managers, mobile workers, end-users, and administrators through simplified means of reserving, updating, and monitoring resource reservations and events.
Resource Scheduler 9.1 was developed based on PeopleCube's “User-Centered Design” methodology, wherein customer and prospect requests are evaluated, support calls analyzed, and usability testing performed to identify the greatest areas of scheduling, services, and resource management needs.
Event Updates and Management Simplified for End-Users
Resource Scheduler 9.1 includes several event management enhancements, including: a drag-and-drop feature for quickly and easily changing the date and time of an existing event reservation; intuitive type-ahead functionality to expedite information entry; and “At a Glance” views that allow users to easily see the details of an event without having to open the reservation. In addition, Resource Scheduler 9.1 features combination-room support, where users can reserve partitioned rooms separately, as subgroups, or as an entire room.
Resource Scheduler 9.1 also expands the number of service delivery options available. For example, A/V services can be requested for one room location, while catering services can be delivered to another location–all from a single reservation. Service restrictions also have been added, allowing administrators to control the types of services, such as catering, that can be delivered or performed at specified locations. Resource Scheduler 9.1 features enhanced visitor management support where event managers can print multiple visitor badges at once, helping to expedite the registration and check-in process.
Long-Term Hoteling for the “Fixed” Mobile Worker
Resource Scheduler 9.1 includes a new long-term (reverse) hoteling option for mobile workers. In most hoteling environments, users are required to reserve and check in and out of their scheduled workspace. The long-term hoteling feature for administrators allows mobile workers who tend to be in the office on a consistent basis to reserve alternative workspace without requiring them to check in to that space when they arrive or check out when they leave, ensuring that their workspace is available at the scheduled time.
Administrative Control and Modification Enhancements
Resource Scheduler 9.1 offers several convenient ways for administrators to manage Resource Scheduler and its users. For example, in addition to providing a more user-friendly method of importing data into Resource Scheduler using Excel, Resource Scheduler's new audit history function enables administrators to examine any and all changes made to reservations in the system. This provides vital information to the administrator that helps address potential conflict resolution, reservation preference monitoring, and reservation misuse.
