At last week’s Motivation Show in Chicago, cruise meetings company Landry & Kling launched Seasite.com, an online marketplace for meeting planners who are organizing cruise meetings and events.
The site, which Landry & Kling claims is the first and only Web portal dedicated exclusively to the cruise meetings market, is designed to mimic similar Web sites in the hotel space by allowing meeting planners to search for cruise lines and itineraries, collect information on more than 250 ships and their meeting space, and electronically submit RFPs to cruise providers.
“The reality is that cruising makes great business sense,” Seasite.com CEO Josephine Kling said in a statement. “Cruising has transitioned from ‘only for the elite, to everyman’s pleasure’ and, with Seasite, even meeting planners with no experience can make it happen.”
A major focus of Seasite.com is cost-cutting, according to Kling, who said meetings held at sea can cost 25 percent to 40 percent less than meetings held on land. “Planners now have the opportunity to be proactive and explore these affordable and uncharted waters at their own pace,” she continued. “[Seasite.com] is the new frontier of cruise meetings and incentives, allowing you to do more with less.”
Currently, there are 35 cruise lines searchable at Seasite.com, including but not limited to the the following nine, which are the site’s founding marketing partners: Royal Caribbean Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Silversea, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, SeaDream and Sea Cloud.
