Do what scares you the most

A blog post by Dan Waldschmidt

Make the call you’re afraid to make.

Spend the money you’re afraid to spend.

Leave the job that you hate so much.

Demand civility, even when calling names is easier to do.

Admit when you get it wrong.

Fire the client that robs you of your joy.

Gamble on saying “I love you” first.

Believe that you will get it right the next time around.

Challenge the “facts” in front of you.

Invest in your long-term success.

Ask the question you don’t really want an answer to.

Share your concerns when you’re concerned.

Denounce pettiness and passive aggressiveness.

Get help for “head stuff” instead of pretending everything is all right.

Believe in what you believe.

Stand up for those who can’t do it for themselves.

The best parts of life are scary.

So it’s OK if you’re scared along the way.

But being scared isn’t an excuse for you to avoid being the person that you need to be.

Do what scares you.

And if you do it every day, you’ll find yourself a lot less scared by what’s happening around you.

Because one by one by one, you’ll have done everything that you once thought was too scary to think about trying.

And that’s a pretty incredible place to be.

Fearless. Focused. Fighting for who you want to be.
