Canada-based loyalty management company Groupe Aeroplan today announced the completion of its acquisition of Carlson Marketing, marking the official severing of parent company Carlson Cos. from its original business. Meanwhile, the deal gives the business that includes Air Canada’s loyalty program a strong U.S. presence.
The $175.3 million deal, first announced early last month, includes Carlson’s engagement and events division, which operates meetings, events and incentives programs for large corporations.
Carlson Cos. retains its majority ownership in travel management company Carlson Wagonlit Travel, as well as its Carlson Hotels Worldwide and chain restaurant businesses.
