As the term suggests, a considered purchase is a good or service that a customer thinks about and analyzes before acquiring. Evaluation is usually performed from several distinct points of view or roles:
Technical buyer
Subject matter expert(s) regarding the product usage category: metallurgists or design engineers, for example, in the case of selecting materials for use in an engine part.
User buyer
Person(s) who interact with the product in use: plant managers or machine operators in a metal foundry.
Economic buyer
Budget holder and/or the person handling financial analysis and procedural/negotiation aspects of purchasing: a chief financial officer, procurement manager, etc.
