You need to know your customer in order to effectively market to them. Sujan Patel, co-founder of digital marketing company Web Profits and the email outreach company Mailkshake, says the digital tools for getting to know customers in the B2B space are better than ever. He shared his top five recently in a post at Entrepreneur.com:
SurveyMonkey – Engage with your customers directly and get feedback on how you can improve. Don’t be afraid of open-ended questions so your customers can respond with their own answers.
Google Analytics – Gain insight on how your customers are interacting with your brand. What pages on your website are holding their attention? How did they get to your site in the first place?
Google Trends – Learn about the search terms your potential customers are using. See related search terms and topics that could reveal new opportunities for your business.
Hootsuite – Setting up social media accounts for your business is only the first step. Hootsuite helps you track what people are saying about you online, about your competitors and about your industry in general. It’s an effective way to tap into the most relevant conversations your customers are having.
Salesforce – Manage all of your customer data in a single, cloud-based system. This allows you to see the whole picture and have a thorough understanding of your customers.
