Product Review – May-June 2016

What does luxury look like, and why does it matter? For us, luxury is anything that’s desirable, but feels just out of reach in terms of spending one’s own money on it. That’s what makes an incentive effective. And that’s what we have assembled here — an assortment of noncash incentives for diverse tastes. Entice the travelers, the foodies, the coffee fiends and more to hit a quota or some other stretch goal.

Tangible incentives are vivid and full of sensory-rich specifics, so they are stored in the emotional right side of the brain and “pulled up” often in anticipation.

“We’ve come a long way from the gold retirement watch,” states a report from Blackhawk Engagement Solutions (bhengagement.com). “People weigh an incentive’s value against how hard it is to earn. Choose employee rewards that inherently have higher value, and you can inspire higher performance. Keep in mind that indulgences, especially those that don’t have to be justified, are more valuable.”

Welcome to the new look of luxury.

Signature massage chair

Brookstone, in partnership with Inada, the creator of the first automatic Shiatsu massage chair, has introduced a dual 3D massage system that makes short work of tight muscles. While one set of massages is soothing the upper back, the second set is easing strain and tension in the lower back. It’s like having two masseuses at once. Users can create their own custom massage by choosing the type, speed, roller width and body zone.
